The Wiremen

Beyond the traditional Blues Band

All of us have always been aficionados of the Blues. How can you not!
Each of us has played it; in 'traditional' blues bands, blues rock bands, acoustic duos, solo acts and even jazz orchestras.
But the audience's tastes are not as limited to one specific genre as they used to be even a decade ago, and some traditional blues bands appear a little limited these days - sometimes they generate interest mostly in people who - well, play in blues bands themselves !
So when we formed The Wiremen in 2009, we asked ourselves : How can we be a little more interesting and pack the dance floor?
Can we send it into R&B, Funk, Swing, maybe even Rockabilly ? Can a five piece band get away with playing a jungle beat like a nineteenthirtie's Big Band ? Can we do all this and be coherent, credible, fun, and still grounded in the Mississippi earth?
And it appears that thanks to our diverse backgrounds we pulled it off.
A Wiremen show is always fun and energetic while maintaining musical integrity and clubowners and festival managers love to book us.
Catch the next Wiremen show - if you love a high energy show that features Roots Rocking Rhythm and Blues you won't be disappointed.

" I found them to be very friendly and professional....their music is entertaining and full of energy...all have great stage presence and interact well with the crowd...I plan to book them again in the near future"
