The Valley City
The Valley City is a hip-hop group from Edmonton pushing a conscious message with an old school feel. Influenced by rap’s great lyricists, MC Jim “JKrazy” Kerr speaks on everything from the daily grind to the one percenters' attack on the truth. Producer/DJ Ben "Benny P" Pawluk is most comfortable bobbing his head to a dope beat. He respects the greats and tries to draw inspiration from as many sources as possible when making music. Rounding out the group is Will "Willy Styles" Franklyn, another local MC with a passion for hip-hop. Will can write a dope track or blow you away with his ability to freestyle.
The Valley City is a group that blends a love for hip-hop with a desire to put something real out into the world. Listen to "The Alternative Facts EP" on iTunes, Spotify or at TheValleyCity.com.
Kahtja & Mo
Kahtja & Mo have been soul sisters for over a decade. They met in choir class in high school and have had too many wild adventures to count. Their intuitive connection is showcased in their complementary sound and hypnotic harmonies. Both lifelong musicians, these ladies share a very special bond deeply rooted in divine authenticity that creates a transcendent musical experience. They love engaging and hyping up the crowd through exploring many genres of music ranging from folk, blues, soul, jazz and R&B all the way to pop and rap. Get ready to experience their voices melt together into one soulful vibration that will engage all the senses!
Kahtja & Mo will be accompanied by the beats & electronic musical musings of Nicky Dubs:
Nicky Dubs is the stage name of Nic Dublanko, a Canadian electronic musician originally from Edmonton, AB. His music has a diverse sound, influenced by reggae/dub, drum 'n bass, hip hop, world beats and by his fellow Hollow Moon Records artists. His melodic, groove oriented songs are a unique blend of dreamy psychedelic soul and bass music, spiced up with live drums, live looping and vocoder beatboxing. The live show is like a dj set but always features live drums, vocal effects and loopstation work ensuring that each show is a completely different experience than the last.
The Millennial Project
The Millennial Project is a rap/hip hop conglomerate based in Edmonton, Alberta. The collective features five individual artists all with their own unique styles and presence when it comes to holding a pen or microphone.
Catchthedaydreamer (@yvngcatch) - Growing up holding a guitar, Catch has always had a knack for rhythm. His smooth yet gritty vocals mixed with upbeat rhythm and bass make for an unforgettable performance every time.
Coast (@therealcoast) - Twin brother to Catch, Coast comes from a well rounded musical family. Despite his late start, Coast has wasted no time building a foundation for his music with his fresh take on hip-hop from strong, meaningful lyrics to his well delivered messages.
Hide (@heidijenna)- Holding it down as the projects only female artist, Hide is older sister to the twins. Her smooth, consistent style consists of rhythm assisted poetry, mind melting melodies and a one of a kind voice.
Rhythmic (@iamthemind) - Starting off with poetry, Rhythmic found himself writing lyrics at a young age. Uninfluenced by today's "game" his time spent in silence is what developed his unorthodox style of rap.
Write Hand (@thewritehand) - Underground and out of sight, Write Hand is consistently delivering hard hitting rhyme schemes over old school beats. His powerful lyrics have no capacity and his hunger to progress is insatiable.
