Karen Hester, performing as Dolly Parton on the Legends stage, has a truly magni ficent stage presence. On her way to becoming one of Legends best Dolly tribute artists; she has impressed crowds country-wide, time and time again. Coming from a family of musical people where everyone either picked up an instrument or sang along to the tune of the hour, the stage is as close to her heart as her son. She started by singing at family reunions, gospel quartets and trios, and then started venturing into theatrical productions and country music. Drawing inspiration from Madonna, Cindy Lauper, Martina McBride and Dolly Parton, as Karen grew, so did her passion for music and performance.
Now, she’s been cast in regional and national commercials, acted in the Murder Mystery Dinner Theater shows at the House of Blues, featured in The Dean Martin Show at the Palace Theatre, and performed as an impersonator for Dino’s TV Variety Show. She was in the off-Broadway hit The Marvelous Wonderettes, and was the understudy for both female roles in Golf: The Musical. Not to mention, she has been the opening act for recording artists such as Trace Adkins and Ricky Van Shelton. Harnessing this wide array of professional experience, and topping it off with outstanding costumes, wigs and makeup, Karen brings her Dolly Parton act to life for Legends in Concert. Come hear her sing Dolly’s best, and prepare to be impressed.
Born in Illinois, in 1953 the fourth of five children, tribute artist, singer, song-writer, Dave Karl, grew up in a very old town of Wooddale where his father worked in construction and his mother a stay-at-home mom. He started out as a kid doing cartoon character voices for family and friends – an early discovery of impersonating!
Mel Blanc was his mentor, the voice behind all the Warner Bros.® cartoon characters. At age eight, Dave learned the guitar and at that time he took an interest in singing as well. Impersonating the styles of Elvis, the Beatles, along with other rock-n-roll artists.
He spent a lot of time writing music with fellow musicians and going into recording studios to cut 45 rpm records to sell to their followers, trying to make it into the music industry. When he turned 18 years of age, he turned to Country Music. Impersonating stars like, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty,
Kenny Rogers and even actors such as Walter Brennen who released a song in 1962. In the mid- 1970’s Dave also learned the Bass guitar along with self-teaching the piano.
From 1986 to 1993 Dave was invited to be a member of a well-known Chicago Country music group, “Heartland”. There he played keyboard and guitar. Opening acts for stars such as, Marie Osmond, Lee Greenwood, Ronnie Milsap, and many others. After the band split in 1993, he focused on being a single act. He continued to impersonate as he worked local clubs. In early 2008 Dave put together a Tribute Act to Kenny Rogers. The show is called” A Touch of Kenny”. His ability to impersonator Kenny comes so easily for him because even his own speaking voice is dead on to Kenny’s voice.
January of 2010 he moved to Arizona and in March of that year, he was cast by “Movie Works” a motion picture company to play the part of Kenny Rogers in a movie called “Queens of Country” not yet released.

More Event Details
Since 1990, Barrie performed about 300 dates per year, 2 shows per day, and entertained more than 3 million show-goers. He is a popular guest on TV talk shows and receives a great deal of news press in the cities where he performs. Although best known for his live performances, he is also a recording artist with several releases. Barrie performs original material as well as songs composed by other artists. Barry caught his first glimpse of Diamond when he was sixteen years old and both happened to be
playing the Bitter End in Greenwich Village, New York. I was into Phil Ochs and Woody Guthrie, and there he was singing those songs, too. Picture Neil Diamond singing “If I Had A Hammer”. Barry brings that magic of Neil Diamond to the stage with his incredible look and precise vocals.
A professional musician for more than thirty years, Barrie is especially gratified when fans acknowledge him with comments like, You look and sound more like Neil Diamond than he does. Barrie thinks fans buy into the essence of Diamond they like best during his performance. For some, it’s the look for others, the voice…. It’s the highest compliment they pay me.
For more than three decades, Legends in Concert has proudly entertained more than 6.6 million Las Vegas visitors and residents, produced over 18,500 performances on the Las Vegas Strip and performed to more than 30 million fans worldwide.
