Amie Weymes is from Mullingar, Co. Westmeath in Ireland. She moved to Edmonton in early 2012.
Amie has a passion for country music although she grew up listening to her Dad's favourite music of classic rock contemporary country crossover such as Eagles, CCR, Gordon Lightfoot, Steve Earle, Shania Twain, Miranda Lambert and more.

In her early twenties, Amie took a warming to The Dixie Chicks music and began a cover act back home called The Cherokee Chicks and took to the road. In Amie’s younger years she was involved in performing arts activities and dance routines at school events while taking to singing in a country fashion and self taught guitar in her early 20’s.

Amie performs a 1 Woman Show or with her band. She was gigging as The Cherokee Chick in Ireland but known as herself in Edmonton. Amie's lively set consists of a variety of country, pop, rock to rockabilly and sing a long classics.

She was a Nashville NorthStar Finalist this year at the Calgary Stampede 2013 where she was picked to compete by a panel of Judges from the Canadian Country Music Association. Amie made the top 6 finalists where she played the same stage to thousands as some of the biggest names in Canadian Country Music today did.

Amie is a busy chick gigging around the Edmonton area weekly so keep an eye and an ear out for her!
