Jazz Festival: Peter Belec

An in-demand Edmonton guitarist, Peter Belec is a busy man playing gigs, doing studio work (with Colleen Brown, Dave Babcock and many others), composing, touring and teaching guitar.

Peter has played all over Canada and has had the opportunity to share the stage with many artists including Jakob Dylan, Jimmy Rankin, Patrick Watson, Emm Gryner and has opened for Crash Test Dummies, Hawksley Workman, Fred Eaglesmith, and Kathleen Edwards.

In 2010 Peter released his debut album 'Melodic Miner'. It quickly rose to #4 on CKUA's top 10 and was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award in the Jazz Recording of the Year category.
