In 2006 the single "Too Vamped Up" cracked the top 100 in Canada on the Media base charts, and was played from Victoria to New Brunswick of FM Rock Radio

In 2008, Dean placed in the top 10 finalists in the world in the prestigious "We Are Listening" songwriting competion, based in the UK

In his Indie music career, Dean has shared the stage with such acts as Sarah Harmer, Sarah Slean, The Smalls, The Killjoys, and most recently was joined onstage by Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea for an impromtu jam session in Banff, Ab at a "Dean Lonsdale & the Ramifications" show.

Dean lists his influences to be David bowie, Modest Mouse, Led Zepplin, Stereophonics, & The Trews
