We are so excited about this show with two other great acts we really like a lot.
))-->We met Magik Spells in Victoria, when we got to share the stage with them at the Cambie. Their music was a powerhouse of thundering drums and danceable/tribal songs in a rock/orgasm. They put on a very fun and energetic live show!
MAGIK SPELLS
Magik Spells is currently is in the mixing stages of their 12 track debut album, set to drop this summer. The self-titled album was self-recorded, and is currently being mixed and mastered by Chad Hayes with Bad Clan Audio Productions in Calgary.
Never busy enough, the Spells have a number of shows this summer across Alberta and plans for a North American tour in the fall. Everything from bars and clubs to all ages community spaces, festivals, house parties and more. Teaming up with local and touring bands, dj's, visual artists, dancers and more....the Magik Spells aim to make each and every show a complete orgasmic sensory experience.

))-->We met Edward when we were in Edmonton at the Brixx Bar with our friends Owls by Nature. Edward was in the other band that also played that night, Enter Medic. They were amazing and we struck up a friendship with Edward since then. We're looking forward to hearing his solo work at this show.
EDWARD BLICQ
Edward Blicq is an Indie Folk artist of Stony Plain, now residing in Edmoton. His musical influences range from Matthew Good, Iron and Wine, Joe Purdy, Dan Mangan to classics such as Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Though his other career as a mechanic has deviated his musical ambitions. His lyrics and voice, along with strategically placed shots against human nature will leave you wandering around the city looking for pizza.

THE VENUE
Bohemia is supposed to be an amazing venue with the best live sound and a whole light show, but still in an intimate space. We are really looking forward to this show and we hope to see you there!
The space is limited though, so we would suggest getting your tix in advance. You will be able to get them through YEGlive.ca or at the door. Advance tix are $6, or $8 at the door.

ABOUT US -- Spaceport Union
Spaceport Union is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of their debut full-length album, 'Flirting with the Queen'. This album has been a labour of love for the band and it shows - with a lush sound reminiscent of Radiohead's, OK Computer and Pink Floyd's, Dark Side of the Moon, and a collection of songs that are epic in both sound and scope. Heavily influenced by classic progressive and art rock bands like Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, King Crimson, Soft Machine and The Alan Parsons Project, the band have created an homage to their love of creative, well-crafted music with an avant-garde edge. The band were thrilled to record their debut album last summer in Toronto with one of the country's finest audio engineers, Michael Jack (Rush, Bono, Jann Arden, The Trews).
"...each song carries its own musical flavor, and they all taste delightful...each song is top notch...the overall feel of the album as a whole comes off as complete and substantial...truly some great music here." - M. Gagne (Freelance Reviewer/Allmusic)
The band will be touring BC and Alberta, their 3rd summer tour, and this one to celebrate the release of their debut album. The band has been aiming their trajectory toward the stars with multiple successes already under their belt. They first took their dynamic live show across BC and Alberta in the summer of 2010, completing a successful and well-received first tour. Soon after their return, they started getting invitations to play a number of festivals and showcases, including New Music West and VIMBC, as well as being chosen to be the host band for the Victoria BC Days festival 'Garage Band Live' event. Their passionate live performance garnered them a nomination for 'Best Live Act' at the 2011 VIMA Awards, and the band were nominated for two 2012 VIMA Awards, for 'Male Songwriter of the Year' and 'Female Vocalist of the Year'.
Details for the soft release listening party will be coming soon!
