10th Annual Ice on Whyte Festival takes place January 25 to February 3, 2013!

Brendan Kelly on the Northlands Stage 7 pm to 9 pm Feb 2nd


The Ice on Whyte Festival planning is underway and the production team is thrilled to be presenting a spectacular 10th anniversary event. The International Ice Carving Competition kicks off the festival from January 25 to 27. The park will be filled with ice and snow exhibits, an interactive children's play area, the famous giant ice slide and more. The competition will be followed by 7 more days of outdoor festival fun including new ice and snow carvings created by two artists in residence, live music, fashion, food, hot beverages and culturally themed days.

Mark you calendar for January 25 to February 3, 2013, it will be a blast!

Come outside to play at Ice on Whyte's new festival site at End of Steel Park on 103 Street and Tommy Banks Way!

The International Ice Carving Competition launches the festival. From January 25 to 27, artists from around the world create 10 ice masterpieces. Watch the magic happen as these talented artists tranform 10 blocks of crystal clear ice into magnificent works of art in only 35 hours. Certified judges begin deliberating and scoring at noon on Sunday, January 27th and the awards are presented at 3 pm in the YESS Cafe. (Remember to vote for the People's Choice Award and be entered to win a fabulous prize)

The giant ice slide, interactive children's play area, family skating, live music programming is taking shape. The 10th anniversary festival is going to be fantastic the best yet! We'll keep you posted on our website, facebook and twitter.
