Steve Kuhn - piano
Buster Williams - bass
Joey Baron - drums

Without fear of exaggeration, the trio of pianist Steve Kuhn, bassist Buster Williams and drummer Joey Baron can be described as a jazz “supergroup”.

With a career of a half-century and counting, Steve Kuhn has earned his place as one of the most lyrical and affecting pianists in jazz, with an unfailingly beautiful touch and a sophisticated sense of swing. An ECM veteran of 35 years, Kuhn’s credits are impeccable and range from associations with Stan Getz, Chet Baker and Coleman Hawkins to Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry and Kenny Dorham.

The highlights of Kuhn’s extensive discography include a justly acclaimed series of recordings for the ECM label, his latest recording for ECM being “Wisteria”. As a composer, Kuhn’s songbook is one of quality rather than quantity. He has revisited many pieces repeatedly over the years, revealing their depth anew with each fresh interpretation, like gems held up to different light.

Buster Williams is a prodigious artist whose playing knows no limits. He has played, recorded and collaborated with virtually every major name in jazz over the years as well as appearing on many movie soundtracks, television commercials and numerous television shows.

Largely self-taught, drummer Joey Baron was a member of the Bill Frisell Band for ten years until 1995. Like Buster Williams, he has performed and recorded with an impressive list of musicians in addition to leading his own groups such as Barondown, Miniature, and currently Killer Joey which is a quartet featuring two guitarists.
