Country fans can be guaranteed a great show, as Charley Pride takes to the stage in Canadian theatres in the spring of 2013.
The much celebrated, award-winning legend has charmed audiences and filled the radio airwaves with classics for the past 45 years. "All I Have To Offer You Is Me", "Crystal Chandelier", "Kiss An Angel Good Morning" and "Mountain of Love" are just a few of the 36 No. 1 hits Pride has had in his remarkable career.
This month Charley Pride was asked to donate items from his life to become a part of the Smithsonian's upcoming National Museum of African American History and Culture. Pride's collection will be alongside those of Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Lena Horne and Michael Jackson.
Pride is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, has been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is a part owner of the Texas Rangers.
Opening for Pride this time out will be Nashville's own Bobby Wright. Wright, often referred to as "The Long Tall Texan", is the son of the late Kitty Wells and Johnny Wright. Bobby has been on the stage since he was a boy, signing his first recording contract with Decca at the age of 11. From there he moved to television, spending 4 years on "McHale's Navy" alongside Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway. Wright grew up on the road, touring worldwide with his famous parents for over 37 years as an integral part of "The Kitty Wells Family Show".
