Jung People (/ˈjʊŋ/yuung): a post-rock group from Calgary, AB. Known for their dynamic blend of drowsy ambience, complex timings and fulminant guitar. They were founded in 2010 by childhood friends Bryan Buss and Jordan Bassi after many punk-rock and metal bands.
In 2013, Jung People released their first full length studio album entitled 'Gold Bristle' produced by Howard Bilerman (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Arcade Fire, Bell Orchestre) and recorded at hotel2tango in Montreal, QC.
After touring the album, they took a break from the road to compose and record the score for Empyrean (2015), a Calgary-produced film. After completing the score, the band went on hiatus and persued other projects.
Jung People returned from the hiatus on December 2, 2017 for a two-set concert at The Globe Cinema in Calgary, AB. One set featured Empyrean and unreleased material, and another consisted of their back catalogue.
This is their first Edmonton show since Summer 2014.
Pigeon Breeders are an experimental trio, formed in 2011. Their music has been called "gently unsettling washes of sound ... intelligent, beautiful sonic art."
They will be performing with frequent guest member Nickelas Johnson of Smokey & The Feeelings.
Saying whatever on whatever days with you. She watches while you stand in the back corner trying to sort the best time to buy them a drink or go for a cigarette or finally go home and listen to something on your mind tonight.More Event Details
