【Keys N Krates】
Since forming a decade ago in their native Toronto, Keys N Krates have carved their own path via a bass-centric, sample-driven sound which melds the realms of electronic, hip-hop and beyond. The group-composed of drummer Adam Tune, keyboardist David Matisse and turntablist Jr. Flo.-has built a venerable reputation as one of the leading live electronic acts today on the strength of their onstage instrumentation and energetic sets. Keys N Krates now elevate their craft with Cura, their debut artist album.
World leaders, powerful CEOs, and other fat cats could learn a lesson or two from electrofunk duo Chromeo, namely: know thyself, know thy vibe, and stay thy course. The rest of the population will catch up. Indeed, Chromeo is really good at being, well, Chromeo. The mission, the package, the vision — it’s been a straight shot of pure intentionality from the jump. Funk a game plan, Montreal natives Dave 1 and P-Thugg had a ten-year battle strategy: from cult 80s fetishists on 2004’s She’s In Control to indie blog darlings on 2007’s Fancy Footwork, to international touring sensations on 2010’s Business Casual, to bona fide pop stars on 2014’s White Women.
Based in Toronto, Canada, Grandtheft is a DJ/Producer who has dominated Top 40 US and Top 20 Canada pop radio since the 2016 release of “Easy Go” with Delaney Jane. Accruing over 33M streams across platforms and earning nominations for Dance Video of the year at the MMVAs, the song peaked at#1 on MuchMusic video countdown. Grandtheft’s sound production is varied beyond categorization, ranging from trap to pop to dancehall and consistently moving people of all walks.
Canadian DJ/ Producer Steve Robertson, professionally known as Neon Steve, has curated a unique style and gained an impressive following of fans over the past decade. In the studio by day, Steve demonstrates his unending creativity through the production of forward-thinking Bass House music. In the club by night, his DJ sets are best described as predictably unpredictable. Music is delivered in a high energy and fast paced flow through genres, with clever edits and segues throughout. Finding balance between staying true to his affinity for creating weird music, yet staying current and relatable to a broad range of fans has always been a top priority.
