About Sled Island
Since 2007, Sled Island's thoughtful, eclectic programming and independent spirit have produced a one-of-a-kind festival experience. Each June, the five-day music and arts festival brings together a community of more than 250 bands, comedy, film and art as well as over 40,000 attendees in more than 30 venues, earning rave reviews from attendees, artists and media across the globe.
"That’s one thing I’ve noticed from Sled Island, that it’s one of those festivals where you can really look at and even though you likely don’t know many of the artists, it’s one you can go to and just learn. Big festivals are always polluted with mainstream and there’s not much of a way to find new music in that environment unless you go to something like Sled Island and explore it." - Aesthetic Magazine Toronto
"Sled Island always delivers on either the cult band you’ve been dying to see all your life, or the obscure artist that you’ll end up buying every release from when you stumble in to see them by accident." Edmonton Journal
"I think one of the great things about this festival is that it sort of eliminates the stratification between those who organize the fest and those who attend. " BeatRoute
“For the audience, an intimate, multi-venue festival like Sled Island is a time for letting in the art of others, for exploring far-reaching musical landscapes, for seeing familiar faces, and also for unearthing total fricken’ gems. As far as the discovery element of Sled Island goes, in some ways it’s like a kind of musical Narnia.” - Freq Magazine
“The resulting festival feels like a snapshot to where the indie music world is heading, with more diverse representation than ever that gives a platform to people who may not have had it in the past.” - UPROXXMore Event Details
